Hit Pause exists for that moment when yesterday's drama gives way to today's disaster and leaves a nagging sense that we're missing something—that if we just had a minute to catch our breath, we could actually work through an issue before the news cycle moves on and buries it.

Hit Pause content is written by me. I draft the articles, edit, and review all suggested revisions. I often seek external human reviewers for feedback in the process as well.

I work with an AI assistant (Claude, from Anthropic) in a few specific ways: providing feedback on article ideas, reviewing drafts for structure and clarity, checking sourcing and factual claims, and making suggestions when I get stuck. I do not use AI to write about people or events without verifying the facts against primary sources, and all AI content is reviewed before use.

I also draw on AI in the publication and distribution process including assisting with social media strategy, writing boilerplate and descriptive text, scheduling posts, distilling promotional material from drafts, and designing imagery such as logos and avatars.
